Hi I'd like to edit Unimarc Record.abs to create an index for dissertation note (field 328 : http://www.bnf.fr/documents/B328_6_2010.pdf) I remark this field in Marc21 is field 502 : http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd502.html : 502 - Dissertation Note (R) But in Marc21 Record.abs, this field is mapped with index "Material-type" line 155 : melm 502 Material-type An other field is also mapped with Material-type in Marc21 : 007 line 53 melm 007 Microform-generation:n:range(data,11,1),Material-type,ff7-00:w:range(data,0,1),ff7-01:w:range(data,1,1),ff7-02:w:range(data,2,1),ff7-01-02:w:range(data,0,2) I've never used Marc21, but it sounds a bit strange for me. Could Marc21 guys tell me if this 502 mapping with "Material-type" index is a bug? If it is a bug, what about creating a new index, "dissertation-note" for example, mapped with 502 in Marc21 and 328 in Unimarc ? In bib1.att, there is Dissertation-information = 1056 which could I suppose be user for that purpose. Regards, M.
