Hello everyone, can you help me answer Chris' questions/requests below? He's running a project at the University at Buffalo to integrate Koha into some of their LIS courses, so any help we can give will be paid back in spades as their students begin testing, using, and telling people about Koha. thanks, -pate Pat Eyler Kaitiaki/manager migrant Linux sys admin the Koha project ruby, shell, and perl geek http://www.koha.org http://pate.eylerfamily.org On Sat, 20 Sep 2003, Christopher Brown-Syed wrote:
Dear Pat,
I have been meaning to write you for the last week or so, to bring you up to date on what we've been doing. Chien-Lin Liu who experimented with Koha over the summer, has a stable version with a bulletin board for collecting evaluations, running under Red Hat 9. We are trying to get it ported to a machine in the lab, and Paul Chacko is working on that piece. With Cindi's participation, we can get Chien-Lin's s/w up and running in a real production environment too (see forwarded message). There has also been some interest in getting a Perl class to work on the desiderata and/or bug lists.
What I guess I need from the Koha development team is some help with constructing test scripts for the 'end user' library students in LIS 506, and/or some suggestions as to how we could be of use to the project on the technical side. As well, for internal UB readers, the Dean is seeking funding for lab upgrades. If you can think of any equipment we need, such as laser scanners, all the way up to 3M patron self checkout terminals, please let me know asap.

Do you have examples of the required style?

LIS or programmers? Are you aware of koha2010? (I think that's the name) -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and possibly not of any group I know. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ gopher://g.towers.org.uk/ slef@jabber.at Creative copyleft computing services via http://www.ttllp.co.uk/
Hi all
506, and/or some suggestions as to how we could be of use to the project on the technical side. As well, for internal UB readers, the Dean is seeking funding for lab upgrades. Ill try to get in contact with Ewan Tempero, who has done some work on user testing for Koha. To see if we can get his input on this discussion.
Getting koha working with a self checkout terminal would be a great project, and one that theoretically shouldnt be too hard. Would self checkouts be useful for you? Chris -- Chris Cormack Programmer 027 4500 789 Katipo Communications Ltd chris@katipo.co.nz www.katipo.co.nz
