Hi everyone, I just installed Pre2 and I have an authentication question. We would like to set up users with different privileges and defaults, but I can't seem to see how to arrange that. The apache security uses a username that I specified on install...is there some way to log in as a different user? Can I add users? I see where flags can be modified on borrowers but I can't see any way to log in as a borrower. Joshua

I'll do an install with this security soon and let you know, but I'd love to know if the Apache Security option should be removed before 2.0 or whether I should remove the "this is going to die" message. -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and possibly not of any group I know. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ jabber://slef@jabber.at Creative copyleft computing services via http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ Thought: Edwin A Abbott wrote about trouble with Windows in 1884

imho, the apache security option should be removed now. -- Paul POULAIN Consultant indépendant en logiciels libres responsable francophone de koha (SIGB libre http://www.koha-fr.org)
My original question has still not been answered. How do I manage the non-apache authentication in Koha? There seems to be no way to add users, log-in, or log-out from any of the templates. If we discontinue the apache authentication we will have no security. Am I missing something? Joshua On Fri, Aug 08, 2003 at 05:46:52PM +0200, paul POULAIN wrote:

I've just looked at our local Apache2/Koha-1.9.3 installation and I couldn't see how to do this from the interface either. I think you have to add them as a borrower, "Change Password" to set userid/password and then pick "Modify User Flags" and give them extra access. However, it didn't set flags in 1.9.3 for me. I can't even find the "flags" part in borrowers table that Steve Tonneson's member-flags.pl tries to update. Is this a bug, missing feature or what? -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and possibly not of any group I know. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ jabber://slef@jabber.at Creative copyleft computing services via http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ Thought: Edwin A Abbott wrote about trouble with Windows in 1884
