Fwd: [koha-US Mailing List] Call for partners -- Updating multiple family accounts at once
Hi all, Apologies for cross posting but thought this could be of interest to you. Best regards, Irma Calyx ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Mark Foster <markf@communitylibrary.net> Date: Thu, 22 Aug 2019 at 06:22 Subject: [koha-US Mailing List] Call for partners -- Updating multiple family accounts at once To: koha@lists.katipo.co.nz <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz>, partners@bywatersolutions.com <partners@bywatersolutions.com>, koha-us@koha-us.org <koha-us@koha-us.org> Hello, The Cooperative Information Network (CIN) is looking for individuals or groups that would be interested in helping to fund an enhancement for Koha that speeds up editing of linked patron accounts. The Issue: When updating patron information for multiple patrons (i.e., within a family), each patron must be individually accessed, edited, and saved. Depending on the size of the family, and the amount of changes to be made to each patron, this can take a long time to accomplish. It also creates more opportunities for inadvertent typos, as the information is repeatedly entered and saved. The Solution: We want to create check box that appears on a patron’s edit screen, if there are linked accounts. When this box is checked, upon clicking the Save button, Koha will bring up all linked accounts, and pre-populate the fields with the updated information. Staff would then be able to review the information, and optionally change any field that is specific to that patron (a unique email address, for example). Once staff verifies the information, the Save button is clicked to update the linked patron. This project has been quoted to be about $6000 to fund. If you are interested in helping to fund this project, please let me know. -- Mark Foster, IT Coordinator Community Library Network 208-449-6862 (work cell) 208-773-1506 x321 (office) markf@communitylibrary.net -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "koha-US Mailing List" group.
