Yestoday I compketed the Danish po-files for 3.2 (OPAC and Intranet). Now, I wonder what to do next? My plan is to wait for the release of 3.2, have it installed here and then start making corrections in the translations. There will probably be a number of issues turning up, when the files are installed. That is the case with the 3.0 OPAC-file, but I dont think I will spend any more time on that?
You don't have to wait 3.2 release to test your translation. You can test on 3.2beta. Do you have it installed? Do you know how to activate your language?
But then there is also the prefs.po-file. Should I complete that? When will that be used?
Koha system preferences are located in Admin > System preferences. They are defined in a bundle of .pref text files. Those files are translatable.
And if so, how should it be done? I took a look at the NZ, German and French versions and noticed an important difference. Each line consists of a variable-name and an explanation, but in the German and French versions, the variable-names are left out and only the explanation is translated. Is that the correct way to do it?
Just translate the explanation.

Hi Lars,
if you are not sure how to do it, just translate a few and install the file in your installation.
My experience is, if you translate the variable names, they will show up - that's not what you want J Translate the explanation only.
The German file is working, but I suspect a small problem with some strings, hope I can test that a bit more in the next days.

That is the problem. I dont have 3.2beta installed, so I would have to set up an extra computer just for this, and my impression was that 3.2final is so close that this is not really worth the trouble?
Just translate the explanation.
But leave the variable-names in (as in the NZ-version) or remove them (as in the GE and FR versions) ?

Hi David You need to get the .po files from http://translate.koha.org (if they arent in the beta tarball). Then follow http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Installation_of_additional_languages_for... Chris
