Hi, The french koha user group is working on translating koha and we a have few questions to better understand the workflow. We see here https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Translation_Server that translation for the next master release is generally one week after the string freeze. Does it mean that po files for the master is created at this moment with copying the last one and adding new strings ? But how does it work for the maintenance release ? I see that release maintainers announce the new release on this list : does it mean that a week after this announcement, what we achieve on translate website is on this new update ? And how does it work for the manual : are files created at the same moment than Koha po files ? Thanks Cheers, Sonia BOUIS Responsable du Service des applications documentaires BIBLIOTHÈQUES UNIVERSITAIRES Bibliothèque de la Manufacture UNIVERSITÉ JEAN MOULIN LYON 3 1C AVENUE DES FRÈRES LUMIÈRE CS 78242 69372 LYON CEDEX 08 ligne directe : +33 (0)4 78 78 79 03 http://bu.univ-lyon3.fr<http://bu.univ-lyon3.fr/> L'Université Jean Moulin est membre fondateur de l'Université de Lyon
Hi Sonia, ideally the workflow should be like this: For the monthly maintenance releases: - String freeze with update of the po files around 15th - Release with the updated po files from Pootle around 22nd Pulling the latest version of the files from translate.koha-community.org is one of the last tasks in the release process. All that you will have changed until that moment will be included in the release. For new releases: The Release Manager will announce a schedule including Feature freeze and String Freeze date some time before the release date. The po files for a new version are created from current files of the last release. So 18.05 will be based on the files from 17.11 - including the changes from all maintenance releases up to that point. Strings unchanged don't have to be retranslated, but there are always new strings and strings marked 'fuzzy' that require you to check, if the existing translation is still correct. I am not sure about the po files for the manual, I think Jonathan was working on automating it, but you might want to check with him. Hope that helps! Katrin On 19.02.2018 16:15, BOUIS Sonia wrote:
