the Item Count should show the total copies of item held in the system.  

Note: Due to MARC21 differences, item types were loaded after bulkmarcimport 
using Stephen's itemtypeload.pl script, so I don't think this is related to the 
itemtype issue, but I oculd be wrong (I suppose it's also possible it could be 
the itemtypeload.pl script).
