More details:  It looks like this is the way it works right now... When you set
up your item types, there's a check box for 'Allow renewal'.  If it's checked,
the value gets entered as 1.  If it's not, the value is 0.  It seems that the
script uses those values to determine the actual number of renewals.  So,
instead of a checkbox setting yes or no, it should be either a drop-down with
number options, or even a text box for entering a number.  Perhaps this is just
a template issue?
