Yes, Chris, you did make my day.  Only one small problem remaining: When the
list of waiting items is first shown, the first item is empty:

  ( -- The Plains)
 Name withheld : (33000000027762 -- The Plains)
 Breach of duty : (33000000034432 -- The Plains)
 Rattlesnake crossing : (33000000032413 -- The Plains)
 Deadly kin : (33000000058816 -- The Plains)

If you then scan an item to check it out (say, 33000000025790), that item shows
up in that empty slot:

    Shaker band saw projects / (33000000025790 -- The Plains)
    Name withheld : (33000000027762 -- The Plains)
    Breach of duty : (33000000034432 -- The Plains)
    Rattlesnake crossing : (33000000032413 -- The Plains)
    Deadly kin : (33000000058816 -- The Plains)
