This bug does not get resolved as suggested . I get the same error even with 
opac-detail.pl

The bug occurs only if you log yourself to opac, otherwise everything works 
fine (ie once logged on you can not do any search)

I had to roll back to AUTH.pm rel 1.36 and everything looks fine
