Koha has never properly handled encoding ... rel_2_2 introduced a fix that
resolves the encoding problems for MARC21 records, allowing MARC-8 encoding to
be encoded as utf-8 before insertion into the DB. This fix uses the
MARC::File::XML module to change encoding. However, the fix also created
problems for UNIMARC records that aren't already encoded as UTF-8. The fix will
be to fix the encoding problems when dealing with UNIMARC records withing
MARC::File::XML and should be done within a week or so from this report.
