this is not a bug, unless i'm missing something : there are many different
methods to connect & identify yourself to a ldap. We provide one, but it's just
a basis for local tweaking.
My libraries that uses ldap (2) have a specific Auth.pm for each of them.

However, Auth.pm package almost never changes, so that's not a problem for
upgrades
