First, this is not really a bug.
It doesnot create errors as such.

Moreover, I cannot see any way to get it differently, unless ppl may EDIT z3950
results BEFORE migrating it into catalogue.

The fact is that for those libraries who DONOT have 700 fields in their
catalogue but want authors to be displayed in a peculiar way, they need such a
facility. And  this cannot be a value_builder since it is not in editing
Biblio. It is automatic.

So I would either say WONT FIX.
Or for rel_3 with a facility to EDIT z3950 biblios directly.
