It is a convention of Koha's interface that "Save" is a button and "Cancel" is
a link. This convention is shared by other web applications out there, and was
chosen in order to deemphasize the "Cancel" action and help prevent inadvertent
loss of data.

I'm not sure I understand your point about Vendor Search versus Orders Search.
Can you elaborate?
