I suppose it would be possible to alter the left-hand nav based on the type of
modification log being displayed: You could show the biblio view tabs for a
Catalogue module log, a member view for Members module logs. In order for it to
remain consistent you'd have to query for patron information for display in the
sidebar as it does on other patron pages.

And then the metaphor breaks down for other kinds of logs, which don't have any
particular contextual information to display (fines? letter?).
