I have identified the cause of the bug - it was in fact triggered by your
running Perl 5.10 instead of 5.8; there is a bug in Perl 5.8's regular
expression handling that was fixed in 5.10.  That fix in turn shows a weakness
in the NoZebra code.

I'm working on a patch - should be available in the next day or two.
