My fault: in trying to track down all cases where URLs needed to be escaped, I
didn't see that escaping in this case caused problems: from the git log:
"2008-04-08 Joshua Ferraro      removing escape=url as it broke '=' for
q=query". I've submitted a patch that removes the escape=url (again).
