Summary: SIP2 Error with unescaped special characters in item
                    record
           Product: Koha
           Version: rel_3_0
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: SIP2
        AssignedTo: joe.atzberger at liblime.com
        ReportedBy: wizzyrea at gmail.com
         QAContact: koha-bugs at lists.koha.org

There appears to be a bug in the way the SIP server handles item titles with
special characters in them. Scanning an item with a special character in the
title causes the 3M self check machines to produce the "ERR_SIP_CONN_RECV"
message, causing the machines to fall into an "Out of Service" state
temporarily. Waiting approximately 30 seconds causes the machines to return to
a normal Check-Out state.

It would appear that we will need to see more escaping of special characters to
prevent this behavior.
