This sounds like a hardware issue. It must be the barcode reader making the
"beep." There is an enhancement request (Bug 1080) which suggests adding sound
to the circ interface for valid submissions. But as it is there's no way to
verify that the data has been sent to Koha without looking at the screen to
confirm. I recommend to my own staff that they always keep an eye on the screen
because barcode readers can always mis-scan
