Different libraries may want different options there. Personally, I think a set
of options should define when, and *if*, to auto generate opac login names. You
may want them on add only, on add and on edit, on edit only, or not at all. The
larger your patron list the more likely your patron automatic login generation
is going to collide, or you may just prefer that patrons only have the option
of using their barcodes. Which, in the case of the libraries I work with, the
latter is most likely the preferred option if/when we move to Koha.
