As mentioned, some libraries use a standard prefix. However, some also use a
check digit at the end of the barcode. The prefix should be known to staff, if
laborious to key in, but the check digit is not known unless the actual barcode
is there - in which case a wildcard search is not needed. 
It would be really nice if the wildcard search could accommodate a single
'wild' character at the end as well. I'm hoping Mason is still watching this
one...
