QueryAutoTruncate asks Allow/Don't allow words in a search query to use the *
wildcard (for example, Har* would Harry and harp). 

But if you have this set to Allow and type har* you get no results.

The question should probably read:

Require/Don't require an asterick (*) in order to preform wildcard searches.

If it's set to require you need to enter the * if not it happens automatically.
