Yes

I don't know what exactly do you mean with Stock install, it is a default
installation of version 3.0.3 with all optional data loaded.

The only additional thing I have done is to add STACK category in Authorized
Values with some value. I did this because the field "Shelving Control Number"
in the Item Editor depends on it and there was no data defined for it. I
thought it could solve the problem but unfortunately it did not.

Sure, I issued a Z39.50 search for "101 survival tips : strategies for
self-reliance in any environment." from Library of Congress (LCCN: 2007618257),
and imported it through the MARC editor. I did not make any change to the MARC
record. Then I tried to add an item, I filled in all fields as I thought that
some empty fields had caused this error but unfortunately the error occurred
again.
