There is a problem with the search on itemtype as it is at the moment.
Suppose you have 2 itemtypes :
Articles de PERIODIQUE
PERIODIQUE
And you search ARTICLES de PERIODIQUE
it will also send you back the PERIODIQUE Elements where it should only send
you ARTICLES de periodiques
