Bug in Specific Material Designation drop down list.
When RE-opening the 007 builder to make changes to the coding, the Specific
Material Designation drop down list for Electronic Resource reverts back to
Tape Cartridge (code a) that is the Ist choice in the list.
Unless one notices this reversion, one may be saving 007 and indicating wrongly
that the item is Tape Cartridge.

patron import
The patron import form implies that you can import just patron attributes. It
should either be reworded/designed to make it clear that you have to import
patron records w/ attributes or there should be a way to import just patron
attributes using an identifier like cardnumber.

For future reference, whether or not the subfield is set to show in the
subfield structure has no bearing on whether it will show when viewing the
record in the Normal View.

In Serials module
Serial has subscription with "Create Item Records when receiving this serial"
enabled.
"Manual history" is enabled.
Issues were received and corresponding item records were generated
automatically.
In Cataloging module
Normal View shows items records with issue numbers under Publication Details
column.*
Want to edit item records.
Click Edit Item Records.
No column for Publication Details (showing issues received) in the edit mode.
Click Edit on any item.
No issue number shows in edit window either.
I am not sure if this is a design feature: When in Cataloging module, there is
the Subscription(s) addition to the side panel choices. May be the item records
are supposed to be deleted/edited and managed (compressed) from there
(Serials).
In that case, why give "Edit item records" in the Edit button (next to New) as
an option for current subscription in the Cataloging module?
*Also, the Enumeration/Chronology (952$h) for item records created from the
Cataloging module shows under Publication Details in Normal View. But shows
under Enumeration/Chronology column in the Edit item records.

The check to see if an item exists always evaluates as true.
Correcting this lets the script handle the error as it
was designed to.

I am editing a record in cataloging and I have changed the framework, made
changes to the marc fields and hit save. When I hit save warnings about
required fields in the newly selected framework appear, but after I hit save
the framework is not changes, the book is still using the original framework.

These steps (just to clarify)
1. open existing bib record
2. click edit and choose edit record
3. next to change framework it says 'books'
4. i choose default from the change framework menu
5. i edit the marc record, changing data in a few fields
6. i click save
7. i click edit and edit record only to see that the framework is still saying
'books' even though I saved it with the default selected.

This problem seems to be similar to bug 4935. It is possible to change a record
from the Default framework to another framework, but not the other way around.
I think this is because the Default framework does not have an identifier and
so cannot be searched for or selected.

You don't have to enter a vendor, but you do have to enter when your
subscription starts and ends each year - and then you have to renew each one
annually as well. This shouldn't be required if you're not using vendors in
Koha's serials module.

We are setting up a new installation from scratch. Using MARC 21 Our first bulk
MARC import went well except for this problem with barcodes. The numbers are in
the MARC record at 952 $p. After import, the numbers are still there, and are
searchable and otherwise fully functional. But, if the item record is opened
in the editing mode, the barcode number vanishes from this field.
If it is typed in and saved, it all works fine again, but if the item record is
opened a second time in the editing mode, it vanishes again.
Our installation is currently limited to access from particular IP addresses
until we are ready to go live, but I have tested it from both Windows (XP) and
Mac (OS X) using Chrome and Firefox.

Have just tried to replicate this on current HEAD and its not reproduceable.
The bug whereby subscriptions were expiring immediately was caused by a problem
with the generation of expiry dates from a start date. Is the system logging an
error when the subscription is created

I still have this issue in my install of HEAD and in new installs. Can you
tell me how to get the log you're looking for so I can get you any errors that
the system is generating.
Every new subscription I create is expired at creation - or at least it
requires a renewal before I can receive any issues.

Located the problem if I switch my date format to mm/dd/yyyy then new
subscriptions are getting expired and subscription detail shows some odd dates
like 00/02/0
Errors appear in the apache error_log or koha-dev/var/log/koha-error.log
depending on how install is set up.
I'll try and post a patch today

Changing it to a password type input is easy enough, but if you're going to
mask the input you have to offer another field to re-type the password.
Otherwise there's no way for the user to know they've entered it correctly.

I followed these steps:
1. Build New
2. Choose Cataloging
3. Choose Tabular
4. Choose 'barcode', 'call number', 'title', 'author'
5. Choose to limit on item type 'nonfic' and location 'adult'
My final report looks like this:

This Enhancement allows calendar based news items to appear at the bottom of
receipts.
There is no on-off global parameter for it since if a library does not want to
use it, then the library will not use the "slip" category in news - this is
similar to the OPAC news and Staff news categories in the news feature.
We have been using this for months in Koha 3.0 and the librarians like it and
so does PR as it gives a way to advertise events and news to patrons with every
checkout.

The patch for bug 4305 does not address the case where the ISBN passed to
GetNormalizedISBN is coming from biblioitems.isbn, and contains " | " and the
beginning of a second ISBN.
If multiple ISBN fields are present in the MARC record on import, Koha attempts
to store all of them in the biblioitems.isbn field, up to the field's 30
character limit. Business::ISBN cannot handle this, and will throw an error.
This comes up, in one important case, when a patron attempts to log into their
account in the OPAC. The function to show their currently checked-out items
pulls the ISBN from the biblioitems table, and if they've checked out a
material with multiple ISBNs in the record, they'll see the error rather than
their account.
The simple solution is to scrub any ISBN coming into GetNormalizedISBN for the
" | " delimiter. A more robust solution will involve preventing Koha from
attempting to save multiple ISBNs into a single database field.

We could also split multiple ISBNs on |, and retains the first ISBN identified
as valid by Business::ISBN

Currently, after submitting a set of barcodes or item numbers the user is
presented with a large table showing all the fields in the item record. This
table stretches off the page and requires tedious scrolling.
I propose a modification so that the user can select which columns appear in
that table. That way the user can choose to show only the columns which are
relevant. Table columns would be hidden with javascript and the choices would
be stored in a cookie so the page would remember the user's choices from
session to session.

Tested with current head (3.01.00.145) and different date settings (mm/dd/yyy
and dd/mm/yyyy)
I think it is perhaps a problem with frequency irregular, not sure about other
frequencies.
See screenshots for the exact settings to reproduce the problem.
1. create new subscription

- frequency irregular
2. dates for first issue look fine on subscription overview and receive.
3. receive first issue. Dates are broken for the predicted next issue, showing

After doing a search in the OPAC, the following options appear at the top of
each page of results:
Select All
Clear All
Highlight / Unhighlight
Add to:
Place Hold
At the bottom of the page of search results, you can navigate to other pages of
search results.
It would be nice to be able to do all of those at either the top or the bottom
of the page. I often scroll down the list, checking off items to add to the
cart. I then have scroll all the way back up to add them, and then scroll all
the way back down to navigate to the next page. It would be nice to eliminate
some of the scrolling.

In our Koha, we have created several status for not for loan items.
These status are in a list of authorized values (0 : authorized loan, other
values = not authorized loan).
You can force the issuing of a not for loan item.
When the value is "1" (normal value for not for loan), you have a message, you
force the issuing, and after every thing go right.
If the notforloan value is different (< 1), you can force the issuing, but
after you have the same message for forcing the issuing everytime even for
authorized items, until the unauthorized item is back.

- Adding inline preview/import menu to match cataloging z39.50 search
- Improving behavior of inline menu on both pages
- Adding white space to ISBN/ISSN output on both pages to allow

I found that this patch didn't help instances where the librarian has used the

"Content-type") doesn't work. Index is unknown.
Index "Content-type" is used in records.abs (unimarc) :

First, in etc/zebradb/biblios/etc/bib1.att :
ctype is declared as index 1034, it should be "Content-type".
Second, in etc/zebradb/ccl.properties : Content-type 1=1034 t=b
Why "t=b"? It means right and left truncation.
Content type is a single letter ('a' to 'z'), it doesn't need truncation.

items checked out. This appears strikingly similar to spam.

Actually I checked. I am registered and have been. I don't know why it is
bouncing. It works when I git send-email to myself.
I suppose other patches were missed. I have been sending them, but I assume
they collected in an email somewhere.
Weird. I wonder how this can be solved? Any ideas?

There is a preference for the librarian to receive an email when a hold is
placed, but this doesn't seem to work and others have said they don't even see
any code to implement this... I'd rather it work, but if it can't work, then

Whoops, our Koha never had it until I installed it. Either someone else did
this already or I just resubmitted and old patch.
Just trying to clear all these out of here so they are in at least 3.4.

Allow the patron to update their own email (or add a new email if they never
had one on file) if the syspref OpacPasswordChange is already on allowing them
to update both password and email.
The update email option is in a separate opac menu option.
To update or add an email requires the patron to type in their password as well
as the email address to change their email to.
This is the patch I meant to send!

hi to all,
Im using koha 3.00.06. There is bug found on purchase suggestion.
1.First i logged as a opac user, then i send purchase suggestion to libray.
2. Then i logged as a admin on staff client, then set a library, then click
"more ? Acquisitions " , then i saw the "1 pending suggestion waiting" at
there.
3. But when i click the "manage suggestion" link there is no suggestion was
displayed in that page.

Yes, and the behavior I'm seeing is tied to JS. If the patron has checkouts
which have been renewed too many times or they have checkouts which are on hold
for someone else the renewal checkbox will be hidden. The staff user has the
option of checking the "override" checkbox at the bottom of the table to
override the renewal limit. When this is done the renew/check in checkboxes
show the old buggy behavior.
