We are setting up a new installation from scratch. Using MARC 21 Our first bulk
MARC import went well except for this problem with barcodes. The numbers are in
the MARC record at 952 $p.  After import, the numbers are still there, and are
searchable and otherwise fully functional.  But, if the item record is opened
in the editing mode, the barcode number vanishes from this field.
If it is typed in and saved, it all works fine again, but if the item record is
opened a second time in the editing mode, it vanishes again.
Our installation is currently limited to access from particular IP addresses
until we are ready to go live, but I have tested it from both Windows (XP) and
Mac (OS X) using Chrome and Firefox.
