Should I submit this as another enhancement? I'd like to see this preference
expanded to also let people choose to show just the first name or just the
username in addition to the full name or nothing at all. Other than that
request it works.

it's not only the opac, it's also in the staff client on detail view: selects
the 'Fines & Charges' tab by default, but appears as though it's selected the
'Checkouts' list.

Correct me if im wrong, but this doesnt seem to touch rebuild_zebra.pl at all
As such the options in the systempreferences only apply if you are running the
new, (and hopefully not memory leaking zebraqueue_daemon).
Before I can merge this into master, we would need to first change the wording
in the sys prefs to make it clear that if you are running rebuild_zebra.pl as a
cron job these will have no effect.
Then we need to test the daemon does not memory leak (functionality was never a
problem with it, leaking memory and taking the system down was)
The branch is in new/enh/bug_5166 please could others take a look.

As-is, this code doesn't hurt any previous functionality. That's what I wanted,
and why I didn't touch rebuild_zebra.pl (which is trivial to change to use the
sysprefs as default, I can do it if preferred). Also I didn't port fullindex
and other rebuild_zebra.pl functionalities to avoid making this a big commit,
but those functions are trivial to implement too.

This patch breaks patron search.
If both text and a branchcode or categorycode are specified, the text is
ignored, and ALL matching patrons of either that branch or category (or both
together) are returned, regardless of whether they meet the textual
requirement.
A fix for this is particularly difficult to generate, because the root of the
Search() routing is in C4::SQLHelper, a very complex and twisty module.

I just did a test on 3.2 database which has 3 branches. I set up a default hold
policy for all branches which specified that the "From home library" policy
applies to DVDs. I then placed a hold on a DVD title for a patron registered at
branch #1 and a second hold for a patron at branch #2. When I checked in the
item belonging to branch #2 at branch #2, Koha wanted to use this item to fill
the hold for the patron at branch #1. This means that Koha is not applying the
hold policies when items are checked in. The same thing happens if I try to
check out the item belonging to branch #2 to a patron registered at branch #1

Ah no, i think we are miscommunicating :)
I don't want it ported to rebuild_zebra.pl, it's too close to the release to do
something like that.
What I do want is the words in the preferences screen to make it very clear,
these system preferences are only valid if you are using the zebraqueue daemon.
So that people dont change them, and wonder why they are having no effect.
Also Id like them to make it clear that the daemon is still expiremental, until
we are sure it still isn't memory leaking.
So what I would like is a follow up patch to change the wording of the
preferences page. If you need help with the words I can help out with that.

Yep, all this needs is a follow up patch to check for reserves on the biblio,
or subscriptions on the biblio. And then warn the user if this is the case.
The scenario of wanting to order the biblio from another supplier was not the
one I was concerned about. Its more if a user has placed a hold on it, the hold
with either be left dangling or deleted without the user being notified.
So not just a confirmation prompt, I want it to check and make sure the biblio
has nothing attached to it (another order, a serial subscription a hold etc)
and then tell the librarian this.

I used the wrong characters for quoting. I should have used curly braces
instead of double quotes. Some searches using double quotes will fail (the
problem seems to be punctuation). Follow-up patch to come.

?Holds awaiting pickup ? Holds over tab?, customer would like to sort by
borrower in the ?Holds over tab?. They would also like a ?Cancel All? button on
the same tab. It would make this task more efficient for the customer.
Currently, we are having at least 15 to 20 holds expire each day and to have to
click ?Cancel Hold? for each one is long and tedious.
New syspref TransferWhenCancelAllWaitingHolds will govern whether to skip holds
that need to be transferred when bulk cancelling

Tested: Added inv: as alias for index
Tested: Alternative to 0001: Description changed to 'Inventory number' instead
of 'Stocknumber' (Tested sql files on English)
Signed off both patches.
Will add another comment about a related error, but not originating from these

Stumbled while testing this patch on another error in C4/Items.
If I entered a duplicate inventory number, the item was not saved but the user
is not warned. This error comes from an existing bug [read: not existing code]
in C4/Items. Only the logfile tells you what happened.

The patch applies, does what he said, but i've some troubles with what it does:
if you don't create "basketgroups" (whatever you call them ;-) ), it means you
can't create PDFs. Is it what you want to do ?
I was thinking that with this syspref being set, you had'nt the question, but
the basketgroup was automatically created, without asking, to have librarians
getting the PDF immediatly.
That would be handy for libraries that create one basket, close it and it's
done.

That's why I created it. We use it that way. Actually, we print or mail a
custom pdf file from the basket screen already.
By default, the confirmation question appears however. So it should not be a
problem for anybody?

in bug 5088 - is nengard saying we should stop using the reviews from

Bug 3790 Fix OPAC branch sort on record details, minor XSLT fix
Modifies opac-detail.tmpl to swap the item type and location columns; the
system sorts the display based on the first column in line, so moving the
location to first makes it sort on library/branch name.
Also added a space in the XSLT display between holding library and call number
(to fix problem of display looking like Public Library[MYS DAHEIM].

Dates comes formatted as SIP timestamp.
It surely is great for bots. But nor readable at all for human beings.
Changing messages in order to send date formatted as should be printed
