It doesn't seem to matter what I do, I can't get the ratings to stick? It
always says "your rating: none" and "average rating: null"

The ratings don't seem to stick when I refresh the page, either. 

(It is possible that I have some kind of corruption in my database, but please
check on these issues all the same)
