Hmm hardcoded paths ....

I think it's better to kill this code and focus on a css based approach. 

But if this can be made to work with the free (as in freedom) fonts
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/ttf-liberation or ttf-dejavu-core (which I
see you are using) I don't see why it couldn't go in until a better solution is
committed.
