The new thing is that locale/ directory and locale/update_po.pl have
disappeared. All is now done by misc/translator/translate script.
So you just have to do
  ./translate create LANG
the first time, and then
  ./translate update LANG
every time you want the po to be updated.

PO files are in misc/translator/po/LANG-messages.po
