As of now,

contains code to add support for DOM indexing equivalent to the current GRS-1
filter's support for MARC21 with the improvement that indexed phrases can cross
subfield boundaries.

Although it's a little early, given timing I'm marking the branch as of today
as needs signoff to encourage testing.
