Thanks for looking into this again. I still have it on my list.
At this time I have a simpler rebased version in production under 3.8 where I
removed xslt and marc/unimarc conversion.
My new approach for this report would be:
1 move the code to module
2 add the sru targets
3 add the xslt option
4 (rudimentary) marc conversion (if there is still interest for it)

Will create some new reports to do this gradually. Your patch has to do with
the last two steps.
