To reproduce:

1) Create a new list
2) Create a record with a few items, no callnumbers are entered
3) Add record to list
4) Show list in staff:
/cgi-bin/koha/virtualshelves/shelves.pl?viewshelf=1&shelfoff=1

For 4 items without call numbers, the columns content is: 
, , , ,
