Today, information about serial is only stored in MySQL database.
As as consequence, callnumber, holding library, location, notes are not
searchable in OPAC, because Zebra cannot index them.
One solution could be to copy serial information in Marc structure as does, for
example, Sudoc network in France (955 field is used :
http://documentation.abes.fr/sudoc/formats/loc/zones/955.htm )
What do you think about it?

I think there is a standard used in Marc21 format for holdings : ISO 10324
http://www.loc.gov/marc/holdings/hdintro.html
http://www.itsmarc.com/crs/mergedProjects/holdings/holdings/appendix_d_ansi_niso_z39_71_and_iso_10324_data_elements.htm
There is something similar for Unimarc
http://archive.ifla.org/VI/8/projects/UNIMARC-HoldingsFormat.pdf
BUT... it is not used in France
http://www.bnf.fr/fr/professionnels/f_um/s.format_unimarc_donnees_local.html?first_Art=non
