I'll be direct: this patch will remain low on my priority list as compared to
other patches (like DBIx::Class support and functionality improvements) that
offer greater benefit for less risk.

The linear application of schema updates has made Koha's upgrade process one of
the smoothest that I know of for the users, and I am very wary about making it
more complicated for them.

While I realize that merge conflicts can be annoying for the developers, I can
at least promise as RM that I'll deal with that myself when I apply patches
that update the schema.
