I too manage some Moodle installations with LDAP auth and it works the same way
as in our Koha installation. Nevertheless I'm already looking at Moodle's LDAP
settings and source code to try to understand how they implement the AD case.

All that technical info from MS' site is too much and not conclusive, I was
looking for something in the likes of what I wrote on comment #6 of this
thread. If you can provide such a description that would be a plus.
