I'd love to test this with the provided javascript, but it doesn't work for me,
I get an error about this line:
$('#region-opacuserjs', $('#opac-preview').contents()).replaceWith('<script
id="region-opacuserjs" type="text/javascript">' + $('#pref_opacuserjs').val() +
'</script>');
