Before applying, I created a notice pattern for serial claims. I filled it with
your example.
I applied the patch
I ran  updatedatabase
I checked claims :I could see "O" in the new column.
I made some claims. The number in the new colmun was incremented each time.

Pbm : my VM is not configured to send email. So I coulds not check the sent 
email :( I checked message_queue but did not see anything, but maybe is it sent
directly?
Do you know if I can find pending emails somewhere in ubuntu 12.10 ? I tried to
look in var/log. There is a mail.err file, empty, a mail.log with references to
nullmailer, and a syslog file with no references to email.
