QA comment:

The syspref makes sense for me. It works as described.
The pref should not be filled (syspref.sql and updatedb): it will be displayed
in English for everybody. Since a default message is defined in the template,
the pref value should be empty.
I will provide a followup for that and for 4 tab characters.
