Test after placing syspref UseTablesortForCirc = enable
It works for checkout table and for holds table : column is hided and you can
add it with the link "show/hide columns" "if Cannot be toggled" in admin.
If "Cannot be toggled" is check you can't see the column name with the link
"show/hide columns" 
It's a wonderful patch and it'll be great if we can have the thing in the
serials module.
