Short: +1 for a followup that changes to 'yes'

Long: I'd prefer to enable it by default. People having custom stuff are clever
enough to disable it if necessary.

That said, exploring the use of debconf to have dialogs for this and other
preferences is something we need to do. As soon as possible.
