I've done some minor code tidying to squelch the qa script error.

I'm afraid my dbi is a bit lacking (i tend to use dbic instead these days) so
I'm not so sure about the advantages gained by a switch from prepare to
selectrow_array.

Also split the die across two lines.. I really really want to tidy that file
one day!
