I agree with Jonathan that we should move shared code into a module.
That should not be so much work.
If you would not have unit tests rightaway, I could live with that argumenting
that we do not have these unit tests at this moment also and you are just
moving code.
If you could write them or at least a simple start, you would receive bonus
points of course ;)
