2) I think there are display problems, when both the cart and the lists are
turned off:

For example, this is only available with the prefs ON:
 var MSG_NO_RECORD_SELECTED = _("No item was selected");

Browse selected record still shows up, but I see only one checkbox on my third
record in the list? (confusing)

I am not logged in and tried in 2 different browsers.
