Hi Tom, 

This really is an enhancement request rather than a bug, and it's a difficult
one to solve from the koha side.

In fact, this is more of a general question/plea for others thoughts that would
be open to a larger audience on the koha mailing lists.

The User mailing lists are available to join here
http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha and there are also developer
mailing lists that might be worth punting the question to as well
(http://lists.koha-community.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/koha-devel).

I am still looking ino solutions at this end (as ptfs-europe), but it's
definitely a good idea opening up the question to the wider community audience.
