I was going to submit a patch to fix this test and found yours.

Note that mine looks simpler:

-Koha::Biblioitems->find( $bad_biblionumber )->marcxml("something
wrong")->store;
+Koha::Biblioitems->find( $bad_biblioitemnumber )->marcxml("something
wrong")->store;
