-my $format                     = $input->param('format') || 'ISO2709';
+my $format                     = $input->param('format');

Then later:
+    } else {
+        die "No format specified";
+    }

I would prefer to avoid the die and default to "MARC" if format is not passed,
especially if we backport this change.
