So we need a Maybe value in between with some manual interaction? But what
should batchmod do then?
The simplest approach could be: if you want to return conditionally, put the
pref to No and checkin if you need to.
We probably need more information about why they sometimes want to return and
sometimes not. Without that info we are just guessing..
