I can reproduce this: I searched for "the the". Unhighlighting removes the
first occurrence of the word in the result list. (intranet only)

>From the sample data:
        The ideas behind the chess openings / Reuben Fine. 
Turns into:
        ideas behind the chess openings / Reuben Fine.
