Can you send something to the koha-dev mailing list and add this as a topic for
the next Developers meeting David?

In a situation like this we should check for differing opinions or see if there
are concerns others might have, and then we can vote at the meeting to move
ahead.

I think this the way to go, one less dependency makes it easier to maintain
